Kirsten is a performance physiotherapist who is passionate about empowering her athletes and weekend warriors, helping them to achieve their rehabilitation goals and return to sport.
She has a special interest in running injuries, ACL rehabilitation, and sport-related concussion. Kirsten graduated with a Bachelor's of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, a Master's of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, and an additional Master's of Science with a specialty in concussion rehabilitation at the University of Calgary.
During her time at the University of Calgary, Kirsten researched dizziness subtypes following sport-related concussion, and had the opportunity to work on a systematic review that informed the SCAT-6, and the Amsterdam Consensus Statement on concussion in sport.
Kirsten takes pride in continually improving her physiotherapy practice. She provides individualized evidence-based and patient-centred treatment through education, motor control and exercise principles, soft tissue techniques and dry-needling. She is passionate about finding and treating the root cause of each injury, to not only alleviate current symptoms, but also to improve athletic performance and ensure long-term recovery and results.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Kirsten hiking, backcountry camping, or training for her next marathon. She also loves to travel, and will try to entertain you with stories from her recent trips.
