Tommy Hooper is from Jasper, Alberta and was a multi-sport athlete growing up. During his hockey career he played for Sicamous Eagles, Golden Jets, and Golden Rockets in the KIJHL. Tommy is also a fire fighter where for the previous nine summers he spent his time fighting forest fires around Canada with the Government of Alberta, Leading Initial Attack Crews and Unit Crews and playing many different roles on many different types of fires.
Tommy has his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Acadia University and also holds his Masters in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. While completing the MKin, he was granted the opportunity to complete his practicum with the Calgary Flames Hockey Club and work/ learn in a professional sporting environment and see what it takes to make it to that level. After finishing the MKin, he became a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists.
